SPACE

STORY

The year is 2085. Over half of Earth’s ecosystems are ruined- the horrors of climate change reshaped the planet into a new kind of wasteland, rampant with famine and disease. The only habitable places are the biggest population centers of the world- giant cities that, through sheer willpower, stayed afloat when the economy crashed. The United Nations refused to collaborate until too late; now, these cities are severely overpopulated and full of crime, with whole societies that eventually developed an extreme distrust in their corrupt governments. A classic dystopia- until it’s revealed that humanity has been creating new and improved ways of space travel in top secret for decades, hidden behind layers upon layers of heavily restricted clearance and underground science labs.

Randall, Sevia, Salem, and Cael are just unimportant citizens in Falls City- what was once Seattle, Washington- moving through life as best as they can, until one day news of a government raffle begins circulating around. Apparently, those recent rumors about all that crazy space research underground are true- and have just been released to the public in the form of a new project proposal that the government claims to be “the best shot we have at preserving the next generation of the human race”. One hundred individuals launch into deep space and onto a massive station with the newest and safest developed technology- a perfect way to start a new life.

Randall, Sevia, Salem, and Cael win- and say goodbye to any community they might have had on the surface. Humanity feels real collective hope for the first time in almost a century. If this company, ForCorp, can really pull something like this off, it could mean entering a new age of survival- not just for humans, but for Earth itself. But something about this company feels off. Life on the station begins with excitement, but conditions slowly worsen. Many of the passengers start falling ill with no explanation. People even start to disappear, which doesn’t make any sense; it’s a space station. There’s only so far someone can go until they hit the thick wall separating them from the large expanse of complete and total nothing.

What is ForCorp, really? It eventually becomes clear they aren’t just a space travel company.
